Your role and responsibilities
We are looking for an experienced professional with a strong educational background and a genuine passion for maintenance to join our Advanced Manufacturing Engineering (AME) team in Vaasa, Finland. In this role, you will focus on coordinating maintenance schedules and managing spare parts inventory to ensure smooth operations across our manufacturing processes, including punching, aluminum casting, machining, assembly, and robotic operations.
As the Maintenance Coordinator, you will lead Total Productive Maintenance (TPM) activities to drive optimal equipment performance and reliability. This position requires a proactive approach to maintenance, a strategic mindset, and dedication to reducing downtime while enhancing production efficiency through effective maintenance planning and inventory management.

This position reports to AME Manager.
You will be mainly accountable for:
– Coordinating planned and unplanned maintenance activities with the production team to minimize disruptions
– Monitoring maintenance KPIs, such as Mean Time Between Failures (MTBF) and Mean Time to Repair (MTTR) and adjust schedules accordingly
– Overseeing the procurement and inventory management of spare parts, ensuring critical spares are always available to support maintenance activities. Including establishing optimal stock levels for spare parts and monitoring usage to prevent shortages or overstocking.
– Working with suppliers to ensure timely delivery and quality of spare parts, maintaining a cost-effective supply chain
– Leading the TPM program within the facility, driving continuous improvement in equipment reliability and productivity. Additionally, training and mentoring employees on TPM principles
– Conducting root cause analysis for equipment failures and implement corrective and preventive measures
– Collaborate with the engineering and production teams to identify areas for improvement in equipment design or usage
– Driving continuous improvement projects focused on reducing downtime, optimizing maintenance costs, and improving Overall Equipment Effectiveness (OEE).
– Preparing regular reports (maintenance activities, equipment performance, TPM progress) for management reviews and facilitating TPM audits to ensure compliance with safety and regulatory standards
Qualifications for the role:
– A B.Sc. or M.Sc. level degree from any relevant field
– Extensive (more than 5 years) experience from working in a manufacturing environment with a focus on maintenance coordination or TPM (Total Productive Maintenance)
– Knowledge of TPM methodologies and maintenance best practices
– Fluency in Finnish and English, both written and spoken
– Knowledge of spare parts management and supply chain logistics
– Problem-solving and analytical skills with attention to detail
– Strong understanding of maintenance and reliability principles
