We are now looking for a Summer Trainee, Process Data Analysis for Tools & Processes, Pulp Operations, based in Lappeenranta.

As a Summer Trainee, Process Data Analysis in our team you will have an opportunity to develop your analytical skills in mill environment. You will learn how to analyze production process performance, create soft sensors for process controls and KPI indicators for mill efficiency and quality. You will also get introduced to pulp making processes and have possibility to utilize your technical skills in practice. We are looking forward to welcoming you to grow with us! What you will do
Exact content of the work will be determined by your skills and needs of on-going development projects. Your work will contain elements from the following areas:
-Process data analysis (time series analysis)
-Development of process soft-sensors and KPI-indicators
-Supporting UPM Digi & Data development projects
-Tuning and development of advanced process control systems
Who you are
-You are a self-motivated and results-driven person who is willing to learn new things
-You are computational engineering, automation engineering, or other relevant area student who has already advanced in your studies
-You have hands-on technical skills in time series data analysis and dynamic process modeling
-You have practical experience on Matlab, Python and JavaScript
-Practical knowledge on pulp making process is an asset
-You communicate well in both in Finnish and English
