At Musopia, we’re on a mission to make engaging with music an inspiring, game-driven journey. We’re looking for a Senior Game Designer to drive the design of innovative Free-to-Play musical experiences that motivate users and build skills, ultimately transforming music education. You’ll join our growing R&D team, working within a rapid prototyping environment to create interactive, rewarding musical journeys that people of all ages will love. As a Senior Game Designer at Musopia, you’ll play a key role in creating the future of Free-to-Play Musical games through engaging, game-driven experiences. This position offers the opportunity to use your expertise in game and monetization design to make learning music rewarding and accessible, helping people of all ages experience the joy of music.

Responsibilities

– Design and optimise game mechanics (e.g. core gameplay, meta-systems, in-game economies) for our upcoming Free-to-Play Musical games.

– Design, model, balance and optimise F2P economies or monetisation mechanics.

– Creating balance sheets, charts, and reports to analyse and enhance the game’s economy.

– Help the team to ensure the product is commercially successful and business goals are being met.

– Collaborating closely with developers and UX designers.

Requirements

– 5+ years of experience of Game Design on Mobile, with at least one commercially successful game released on the market.

– Strong understanding of the F2P mechanics and market trends.

– You are proactive and able to provide visionary leadership and shape the game’s direction based on market and player trends.

– Expertise in data analysis with a track record of producing successful, actionable outcomes.

– Deep understanding of player psychology, engagement, and player-centric design principles.

– Business-driven mindset that understands megatrends and the mobile app market.

– Fluent communication and interpersonal skills with good written and spoken English. Finnish being a plus, but not mandatory.

– Experience in rapid prototyping on varying levels of fidelity.

We also appreciate

– Experience with Unity and the UI implementation pipeline.

– Experience working with Design Systems or other style guidelines.

– Interest and/or background in music.

– This position is on-site at the Helsinki Office with a hybrid model.

Our office is in Helsinki, and for team collaboration we expect our people to work two days per week in the office. Our team is easy-going yet super talented and ambitious and we are set to make an impact for the future. Note that playing a musical instrument is a benefit, but not at all mandatory.
