About The Job We are seeking an experienced Senior Accountant to strengthen our finance team. In this role, you will be responsible for a range of accounting and financial reporting tasks, supporting both local requirements and global finance initiatives. This position offers the opportunity to contribute significantly to our financial accuracy, compliance, and the continuous improvement of our financial processes.
Your Role as a Senior Accountant, you will play a vital role in ensuring the integrity of our financial records and reporting. Your responsibilities will include conducting detailed financial reviews, preparing statutory reports, and managing key accounting functions such as tax compliance and balance sheet reconciliations. You will collaborate closely with various internal teams and external partners, contributing to a robust and efficient financial framework.
Your daily tasks will involve analyzing financial data, ensuring adherence to accounting standards, and supporting the month-end and year-end closing processes. You will also be involved in proactively identifying opportunities for process enhancements and contributing to a culture of continuous improvement within the finance department. This role offers a dynamic environment where your expertise will directly impact on our financial operations.
Key Responsibilities
Conduct monthly analytical reviews of Local GAAP and IFRS closes and consolidate monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements, supporting month-end and year-end close procedures to ensure timely and accurate reporting.
Prepare VAT and annual tax returns
Manage fixed asset accounting and balance sheet reconciliations
Assist in researching and resolving accounting discrepancies
Handle payroll bookings and provide backup support for payroll processes
Ensure compliance with internal controls
Assist in the preparation of management reports, budgets, and forecasts
Maintain intercompany reconciliations and ensure compliance with regulations
Liaise with external auditors and tax advisors as needed
Proactively identify opportunities for process improvements and provide recommendations to enhance financial reporting and compliance
What Will Help You To Be Successful In This Role The ideal candidate is a high-agency and meticulous accounting professional with a strong grasp of accounting principles and a proven track record in a similar role within an international setting. You possess strong analytical and problem-solving skills, excellent communication abilities, and a drive for accuracy and process improvement.
A masters degree in accounting or finance is preferred
Minimum of 5 years of progressive experience in an accountant role
Strong knowledge of Local GAAP and potentially IFRS, accounting principles, practices, standards, laws, and regulations
Proven experience in preparing and consolidating financial statements
Excellent analytical skills, organizational skills, and attention to detail
Strong computer skills, including proficiency in manipulating large datasets and experience with accounting software (experience with Unit4 and Blackline is a plus)
Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English
