Sampo Group is looking for an analytical and finance-oriented (Senior) Analyst to strengthen its Group Control team.
Key responsibilities
The Group Control team provides high-quality management reporting, forecasts and financial planning, solvency reporting, market analyses, and investment reporting for Sampo Group. As a (Senior) Analyst, you will play a crucial role in delivering investment reports and insights to the top management and the board of directors of Sampo Group. Additionally, you will act as a link between different functions and parts of the Sampo Group in the Nordics and the UK and within Sampo plc. You will work alongside the team members to provide daily, weekly, monthly, and quarterly investment reports.
Your main focus will be on leveraging a newly built investment database integrated with Power BI to design, automate and visualize reports and processes. You will ensure data accuracy through thorough checks and reconciliations as well as take the lead in further developing and maintaining the database and reporting environment. In the Senior-level role, you will also take more responsibility for the development projects and participate in the other reporting activities of the Group Control function.

You are expected to have:
– Relevant academic degree (e.g. MSc or BSc in Economics, Finance, industrial engineering or related field)
– Previous work experience within the areas of investment reporting, data or risk management, financial controlling, or consultancy in the insurance or financial sector
– Excellent knowledge of financial markets, especially within Fixed Income domain
– Strong analytical skills with the ability to create high-quality reports (including creation and manage of Power BI Dashboards) and presentations, utilizing Power BI and other data visualization tools
– Solid technical skills with Power BI (DAX and Power Query), SQL, and Excel
– Knowledge of data warehousing concepts
– Full working proficiency in English
– Strong communication skills and a systematic working style
Considered as an asset:
– Finnish language skills
– Knowledge of Python language
– Experience with Bloomberg Terminal

Practicalities:
This is a full-time and permanent position, and you will be employed directly to Sampo plc. The position is wished to be started as soon as possible. The role will be located at Sampo HQ in central Helsinki, and we hope you are able to work in the office at least three days per week as part of a hybrid model.
