Lapland Staff hakee rekikoiraopasta talvikaudelle 2025, Saariselän Lapland Husky Safariksen kenneliin.
Lapland Husky Safaris Saariselän huskykennel on osa Suomen suurinta koiravaljakkoyritystä. Työympäristö on kansainvälinen, sillä asiakkaamme ovat lähes kokonaan ulkomaisia matkailijoita. Lapland Husky Safariksen Saariselän kennel sijaitsee noin 20km Saariselältä pohjoiseen, Kuukkelilammen rannalla. Koiria on ollut paikalla vuodesta 2011 lähtien ja tällä hetkellä alaskanhuskeja kennelillä on 153. Koirien lisäksi alueelta löytyy myös lampaita, ankkoja ja kissoja. Reitistö kulkee lähes keskellä ei mitään ja lähtöpaikat sijaitsevat Kuukkelilammen rannalla.
Rekikoiraoppaan työtehtäviin kuuluu koirien hoitoa, koiratarhan töitä, safareiden opastustehtäviä sekä mahdollisesti myös reittien huoltoa. Kenneltyöhön kuuluu koirien hyvinvoinnista huolehtiminen, ruokinta ja juotto, pentujen sosiaalistaminen, sekä päivittäinen tarhojen siivous. Opastyöhön sisältyy ohjelmien valmistelu- ja purkutehtävät, asiakaspalvelua tarhalla ja maastossa sekä koiravaljakoiden opastamista.
Työssäsi tarvitset hyvää fyysistä kuntoa, reipasta asennetta ja kykyä sietää muuttuvia tilanteita. Koska asiakkaamme ovat kansainvälisiä, englannin kielen osaaminen katsotaan eduksi.
Rekikoiraoppaana opastus maastossa tapahtuu pääasiassa moottorikelkalla, joten vähintään B-luokan ajokortti on tarpeen ja eduksi katsotaan kokemus moottorikelkalla ajosta. Eduksi katsotaan myös aiempi kokemus opastyöstä, mutta se ei ole välttämätöntä. Me opetamme, jos sinä haluat oppia!
Tärkeintä meille on realistinen käsitys työn vaativuudesta, erityisesti sen fyysisestä luonteesta, mutta myös palkitsevuudesta joka aamu sadat työkaverit tervehtivät sinua niin innokkaasti, että tarvitset lähes kuulosuojaimet. Sinulla tulisi olla myös työtä pelkäämätön ja joustava asenne työajoissa, työaika sijoittuu pääasiassa kello 7:00 ja 16:00 välille.
Vapaapäivinäsi pääset tutustumaan mielettömään pohjoisen luontoon, harrastamaan monenlaisia talviaktiviteetteja ja viettämään aikaa samanhenkisten ulkoilmaihmisten kanssa. Monen työntekijän mielestä yksi parhaita asioita työssä onkin loistava porukka, josta saat kavereita ympäri maailmaa. Sesonki on intensiivinen, joten hyvinkin lyhyessä ajassa sekä ihmis- että koirakaverit tulevat hyvinkin tutuiksi. Onhan se ihan hienoa, että toimistosi on pohjoisen Suomen hienoimmissa maisemissa ja työkaverisi ovat aina innoissaan sinut nähdessään!

Työsuhde on ohjelmapalvelualan työehtosopimuksen mukainen määräaikaisuus. Työ alkaa niin pian kuin mahdollista ja kestää talvikauden loppuun, maalis-huhtikuulle 2025.
Palkkaus Ohjelmapalvelualan TES:n palkkataulukon vaatimusryhmä A-B mukaan, alkaen 10,50 €/tunti.
Työpaikka sijaitsee Saariselältä n. 20 km pohjoiseen, joten oma auto on välttämätön liikkumiseen kodin ja työpaikan välillä, sillä julkista liikennettä ei ole.
Lapland Husky Safaris on savuton työpaikka. Mikäli tarvitset majoitusta, voimme avustaa sen hankinnassa.

Lapland Husky Safaris Saariselkä kennel is part of Finland’s biggest sleddog enterprise. The working environment is international and almost all of our clients are travellers from abroad. Lapland Husky Safaris’ Saariselkä kennel is located about 20 km north of Saariselkä, on the shore of Lake Kuukkelilampi. Dogs have been present since 2011 and nowadays there are 153 alaskan huskies. In addition to dogs, sheep, ducks and cats can also be found in the area. The trails run almost in the middle of nowhere, and the starting place is located on the shore of Lake Kuukkelilampi.
The duties of a sleddog guide include taking care of the dogs, daily work at the kennel, guiding safaris and possibly maintaining the routes. Kennel work includes taking care of the dogs well-being, feeding and watering them, socializing the puppies, and daily cleaning of the kennels. Guiding work includes preparation of the safaris and dismantling tasks after the program, customer service at the kennel and in the terrain during the safari, and guiding dog sleds.
In your work, you need good physical condition, a brisk attitude, and the ability to tolerate ever-changing situations. Since our guests are international, knowledge of English is considered an advantage.
As a sleddog guide, guiding in the terrain is mainly done by snowmobile, so at least a class B driver’s license is necessary and experience driving a snowmobile is considered an advantage. Previous experience as a guide is also considered an advantage, but it is not necessary. We teach if you want to learn!
The most important thing for us is a realistic understanding of the demands of the work, especially its physical nature, but also the reward – every morning, hundreds of colleagues greet you so enthusiastically that you almost need hearing protection. You should also have a flexible and fearless attitude to work, working hours are mainly between 7:00 and 16:00.
On your days off, you can get to know the incredible nature of the north, enjoy many kinds of winter activities, and spend time with other outdoor-loving people. In the opinion of many employees, one of the best things about work is a great team, where you make friends from all over the world. The season is intense, so in a very short time both human and canine friends become very familiar. It’s great that your office is in the most beautiful scenery of northern Finland and your coworkers are always excited to see you.
You need to have EU-citizenship/passport or valid working permit to Finland.

The employment relationship is a fixed-term seasonal contract by the collective agreement of the Adventure Services Sector. Work will start as soon as possible and will last until the end of winter season (March-April 2025). Salary is according to the requirement group A-B of the collective agreement (Adventure services sector), starting from 10,50 €/hour.
The workplace is approximately 20 km from Saariselkä, so your own car is necessary for moving between home and work, as there is no public transport. Lapland Husky Safaris is a non-smoking workplace. We can help with the acquisition of accommodation/apartment.
