Baccalaureate (IB) continuum. Located in Finland’s capital, ISH fosters a global mindset and
prepares students for the complexities of the modern world. Our community includes over
100 staff members and approximately 500 students representing diverse cultures and
nationalities.
Are you a dedicated and experienced School Counsellor? We are seeking an MYP/DP School Counselor to provide comprehensive emotional, social, and academic support to our students. This is a full-time, permanent position within our dynamic IB World School, where student well-being is at the heart of our educational philosophy.
The ideal applicant will have an advanced degree in the field from an accredited university, quality experience supporting a range of learners in different school settings, and a track record of excellent collaborative skills, creative problem solving, and positivity. Applicants must demonstrate strong speaking, reading and writing skills in English and ease communicating with students, teachers, and parents. An affinity for supporting students across this grade range is essential.

Key Responsibilities Include:
Provide individual and group counseling to MYP and DP students on personal, academic, and social challenges.
Support students in managing stress, emotional well-being, and mental health, particularly during the rigorous IB Diploma Program.
Collaborate with the university guidance team.
Develop and implement school-wide well-being initiatives to promote resilience, mindfulness, and emotional intelligence.
Work closely with teachers, administrators, and parents to ensure a holistic approach to student support.
Offer crisis intervention and conflict resolution services as needed.
Maintain professional confidentiality and ethical counseling practices in line with school policies and international standards.

Qualifications
Master’s degree in Counseling, Psychology, Social Work, or a related field.
Teaching or School Counseling certification is preferred.
Significant experience in school counseling, preferably in an IB MYP & DP setting or an international school.
Strong understanding of adolescent development, mental health challenges, and academic stressors, particularly in the IB Programme.
High level of proficiency in English
