What will you be doing?
As a Senior Backend Developer, youll play a key role in developing our growing edtech application, which helps millions of people learn English. Currently, our app focuses on helping Spanish-speaking adults in North and South America achieve advanced English skills. Our goal is to build the world’s first fully digital program that can demonstrably take users to an advanced level of English. You will work as part of a development team focused on feature development, ensuring our platform remains performant and efficient. You will also collaborate with a cross-disciplinary team to optimize the user experience. Our tech stack includes Golang, Python, Gitlab, AWS EKS and PostgreSQL.

We require you to have:
– Strong knowledge of Golang
– Several years of experience in backend development
– Experience with performance optimization and scaling applications
– Good skills with relational databases and SQL (Postgres)
– Experience with version control (Git)
– Have full working proficiency in English
– Strong problem-solving and communication skills and ability to present findings to non-technical audiences
– Ability and willingness to learn new things and be a true team player

Practicalities:
This is a full-time and permanent position. You will be employed directly by Master English. The start time in the role is as soon as possible. The role will be located in Tampere, Finland, and we hope you can work at the office at least two days per week as part of our hybrid model. Salary in this position is 5000-6500 €/month (gross) depending on the level of your experience, and will be negotiated individually.
