About The Job We are seeking a proactive and analytical Manufacturing Controller to join our finance team. This role involves overseeing financial aspects of our manufacturing operations, including inventory, budgeting, cost analysis, and internal controls. The ideal candidate will provide valuable financial insights to optimize efficiency and ensure accurate reporting within our production processes. Your Role as a Manufacturing Controller, you will be a key financial partner to our production teams, focusing on cost management and efficiency. Your core responsibilities will involve analyzing production costs, developing financial plans, and ensuring the accuracy of inventory valuation. You will collaborate with both finance and production personnel to provide financial clarity and support informed decision-making. This position requires a strong understanding of financial principles within a manufacturing context. Your daily activities will include in-depth cost analysis, performance monitoring against budgets, and active participation in process improvement initiatives. You will also support the finance team with various accounting tasks related to manufacturing.
Key Responsibilities
Monitor inventory levels and valuation
Prepare production budgets and financial forecasts
Analyze production costs for efficiency improvements
Assist the Senior Accountant with balance sheet specifications for manufacturing and inventory
Support the investigation of production-related accounts payable and receivable
Ensure compliance with internal controls
Proactively identify and recommend process improvements in manufacturing finance
Act as a key user, providing support and training on financial systems
Assist with the deployment and upgrades of financial system functionalities
What Will Help You To Be Successful In This Role The ideal candidate is an analytical and detail-oriented finance professional with a solid understanding of manufacturing finance principles. You possess strong communication and problem-solving skills and are eager to contribute to a dynamic manufacturing environment.
A bachelors degree in accounting or finance or equivalent work experience in a manufacturing finance role, such as Manufacturing Controller or Cost Accountant
Strong knowledge of cost accounting, inventory valuation, and budgeting/forecasting in a manufacturing setting
Solutions-oriented with a track record of overcoming obstacles
Skilled in fostering collaboration and positive team dynamics
Strong computer skills, including proficiency in manipulating large data-sets and experience with accounting software (experience in Unit4 and/or IFS is a plus)
Familiarity with ERP systems (experience with IFS Cloud is a plus)
