Enifer, a spin-off company from VTT Technical Research Centre of Finland, was founded by five scientists in 2020 to develop and commercialize the proprietary PEKILO® technology further. A process originally developed and used by the Finnish forest industry at a commercial scale, the PEKILO® technology enables the biotechnological conversion of dilute side streams into a high-protein ingredient, PEKILO® mycoprotein. By transforming circular economy by-products into sustainable, planet-friendly protein, we are pioneering a new approach to food systemsone that supports healthy, delicious diets for everyone while minimizing environmental impact.Were on a mission to make planet friendly protein accessible throughout the food chain.Now we are gearing up the production of PEKILO® mycoprotein with a new €33M factory located in Kirkkonummi, Finland. With already existing collaborations with the worlds leading food and feed companies, we are prepared to annually upcycle food industry side streams into up to 3,000 tons of sustainable fungi-based protein. The plant will be the worlds first commercial plant to produce such a mycoprotein ingredient from sidestream raw materials.Would you like to be our new Maintenance Manager?Enifer is looking for a Maintenance Manager to play a pivotal role in ensuring the reliability and efficiency of our new production factory in Kirkkonummi. We are constructing the first food-grade PEKILO® mycoprotein factory, a fully funded €33 million project set for completion by the end of 2025. In this role, you will lead the development of our maintenance operations, working closely with an outsourced maintenance partner while ensuring optimal equipment performance and plant safety.During the construction phase, you will focus on implementing a maintenance partner, establishing the maintenance strategy, and collaborating on equipment installations. Once production begins in 2026, your role will shift to managing preventive maintenance, optimizing service schedules, and ensuring seamless plant operations. You will be the first point of contact for maintenance issues and train operators on simple maintenance tasks to minimize production disruptions.This is a permanent, full-time position based at our factory in Kantvik, Kirkkonummi.What are we looking for?You are the ideal candidate if you thrive on challenges and are eager to create something entirely new! We are looking for an experienced professional with a strong background in industrial maintenance, particularly in automated production processes. Ideally, you have experience setting up or extensively working with maintenance systems and understand how to plan and lead maintenance operations independently. Previous experience in the enzyme, food, or brewing industries, or a similar type of production environment, is highly valued. You should have a relevant educational background (such as a bachelor’s or masters degree in engineering) and be fluent in both Finnish and English.We expect you to have strong problem-solving skills, an analytical mindset, and keen attention to detail. The ability to work flexibly and adapt to a dynamic startup environment is crucial. You should possess excellent communication skills and be comfortable collaborating with stakeholders.
