We are looking for a

Laboratory Technician/Engineer,

for a permanent position in our Formulation Technology team in R&D Rajamäki, Finland.

The Role
In this role, you will work on enzyme product formulation studies, focusing on powder and granule preparation, as well as downstream processing techniques like filtration. You will also conduct storage stability tests, including sample preparation and analysis. Environmental and safety practices are a priority in our laboratory, and youll ensure theyre followed throughout your work.

A typical day might include hands-on spray drying in our powder handling room, where you’ll be equipped with personal protective equipment, including a motorized mask, to ensure your safety and comfort. Over time, your tasks will alternate between varied and routine duties, with both standard laboratory work and occasional working with heavy containers. Youll document your processes and results in our electronic laboratory notebook, ensuring clear and accurate records.

About You
You have a Bachelors degree in Chemical Engineering, Biotechnology, or a related field, and ideally a couple of years of experience in a laboratory or industrial environment. Youre able to work independently and take initiative, while being an effective collaborator in a team setting. Your strong willingness to learn and commitment to achieving results are complemented by solid laboratory practices, and you understand how your work contributes to the companys commercial goals.

Some of the key qualities were looking for include:

– Attention to quality: Youre precise, efficient, cooperative, and flexible, balancing routine tasks with changing priorities.

– Hands-on experience: Experience with spray drying and granulation, especially with proteins, is a plus. Familiarity with downstream processing techniques is also an advantage.

– Strong organizational skills: You can prioritize tasks and manage your workload effectively.

– Good communication skills: Fluency in either Finnish or English is required, with at least basic skills in the other.
