Scope of the Internship Position:
We are seeking an enthusiastic intern to join ourresearch team, which focuses on environmental technologies. The currentinternship position is open to explore thermal energy storage (TES) solutions.TES allows for the storage of excess energy during periods of low demand, andits release during high demand, thus enhancing the efficiency of renewableenergy systems and reducing resource consumption. Corning is exploring how farstructured heat exchange media could be attractive for thermal energy storage applications.As an intern, you will have the opportunity to contribute to this research byengaging in the following activities:
Performing numerical simulation of heat transferin TES installations using MATLAB.
Modifying models to explore different designoptions.
Evaluating TES unit performance under differentoperational conditions.
Education and Experience:
BS/MS student in the area of Heat Transfer, Fluid Mechanics, or related fields
Required Skills:
Basic knowledge in Heat Transfer modeling, Fluid Mechanics, numerical methods
English level sufficient for comfortable communication (working language is English, both speaking and writing)
Desired Skills:
Practical experience in heat transfer simulations
Knowledge in MATLAB, (Python)

The Corning Scientific Center internship is paid and exceeds the minimum salarydefined by the universities. The internship typically lasts 3 months and generally starts in June. However, the exact start date is flexible and can be discussed with the hiring team.
