– an Outdoor Guide: with a focus on hiking, biking, snowshoe or ski treks, canoeing, etc., as well as northern lights hunting and other local experiences. Outdoor guides have a thorough expertise of Arctic wilderness conditions, a good fitness ability, and a good knowledge of the region. They may naturally lead other types of guided tours, including cultural experiences, if they have the ability / expertise to.
– a Cultural Guide: with a focus on cultural experiences, including local lifestyle & history tours, visits to cultural places, arctic animal tours, Northern lights experiences, etc. Among their various skills, cultural guides demonstrate an interest for history & local cultures, a good knowledge about Lapland and the Nordics, and a strong will to entertain their guests by sharing anecdotes and knowledge.
– a Junior Guide: who demonstrates a good potential and a strong interest in developing themselves as a guide by learning new skills, strengthening their knowledge and practicing in Arctic conditions to gain more experience. They usually have some outdoor or adventurous travel experiences, and are willing to follow intensive trainings to perform as a guide in Lapland. They are leading tours on a basic level, until they demonstrate the ability to handle more advanced group experiences.
