We are currently looking for forest workers / manual forestry workers for our client for a seasonal employment opportunity. In this role, your tasks will include a variety of forest maintenance duties, such as forest planting and young stand management, carried out according to given instructions.
Success in this position requires physical fitness, good decision-making and spatial awareness, and an independent, systematic, and precise approach to work. You will be responsible for the quality of your own work within your designated area. The most important qualification is the right attitude – all necessary work skills and practices will be taught through training.
You should enjoy outdoor work and be willing to take initiative even in changing weather conditions. The work continues as long as weather and snow conditions allow, and the compensation is based on a piece-rate model: in addition to the base salary, a productivity bonus may be paid depending on performance. Work locations vary across Finland depending on your location and willingness to travel.
We expect you to have:
Sufficient physical fitness and ability to work outdoors in all conditions (rain, insects, temperature changes)
Ability to work independently and solve problems proactively
Willingness to learn new things and adopt new work practices
Basic Finnish or English language skills for understanding instructions
Willingness to follow given guidelines and safety instructions
The following are considered an advantage:
Previous experience in forestry or forest maintenance
Familiarity with work machinery, their maintenance, or mechanical skills
