Copenhagen Economics is looking for an experienced Lead / Senior Economist to join their Helsinki office and international team. Youll support private and public clients with sound economic advice, and manage internal project teams. You ideally have prior experience in an economic consultancy, competition authority or sector regulator.

Examples of typical projects include:
– Supporting companies and authorities in assessing the competitive impacts of, for example, pricing practices, and agreements and mergers between firms.
– Quantifying damages from an anti-competitive conduct.
– Assessing the implications of regulatory policies in sectors such as the tech sector, telecoms, postal, energy and healthcare.
– Advising public and private sector clients on State aid assessments pertaining to the green transition and other large scale strategic investments.
– Supporting clients in determining the value of their intellectual property (such as brands or patents).

WHAT DO WE OFFER?
You will assume important responsibilities from the outset, working on a broad range of tasks such as managing projects, determining approaches to economic assessments, drafting reports, engaging with clients, and being involved in business development activities. WHO ARE YOU?
– You will likely have worked around 4-8 years after completing a relevant degree within Economics. Your experience could be from regulators or another consulting firm.
– You have a MSc or PhD in economics, preferably with a particular interest in microeconomics and industrial organisation.
– You have experience with managing projects and take pride in delivering high-quality advice and output by agreed deadlines and budgets.
– You have experience in performing quantitative analysis.
– You are an effective communicator who is passionate not only about producing high-quality analysis but also about conveying it clearly in English and Finnish, both in writing and verbally.
– You are focused and pragmatic. You understand that the job of a consultant is to provide valuable analysis and advice, following deadlines and budgets.
– You are curious to learn about a variety of industries and are open to working on diverse types of projects.
– You love to solve problems and help people, both clients and colleagues.
– You seek out and take ownership of tasks and make sure they are followed through.
Practicalities:
This is a full-time and permanent position, and you will be employed by Copenhagen Economics. The starting time is negotiable during, preferably during Spring 2025. The office is located in central Helsinki, and you are expected to work onsite on a weekly basis with a hybrid model. The position also includes international travel for example to other CE offices. Compensation will be negotiated individually, including a fixed monthly salary and a bonus scheme.
