Rovaniemi Insider is looking for adventurous, service-minded guides to join our seasonal team and help create unforgettable experiences for travelers from around the world. ABOUT THE ROLE
As a guide with Rovaniemi Insider, your work will be diverse. Youll lead guests on magical excursions such as northern lights tours, reindeer safaris, and other nature-based activities. Your responsibilities may include:
– Driving guests to and from excursions (B license required)
– Guiding and storytelling during tours and bus trips
– Photography and video content creation during excursions
– Social media content creation
– Customer service and problem-solving
– Interpreting (in some cases)
– Acting as a private guide for select guests
WHAT KIND OF PERSONS ARE WE LOOKING FOR?
– Self-directed and proactive, with a global mindset
– Comfortable working also independently and solving problems on the go
– Fluent in English; additional language skills are a big plus (especially Spanish, French, Chinese, or Italian)
– Interested in photography and/or social media (training provided if needed)
– In possession of a valid drivers license and driving experience
– Open to flexible work hours and occasional travel to other destinations (e.g., Kemijärvi, Ylläs)
EMPLOYMENT DETAILS
– Start & End Dates: Varying start dates from November/December until mid or late March. Peak season is DecemberJanuary.
– Working Hours: Varying contracts available:
3037.5 hrs/week,
2037.5 hrs/week or other part-time options,
On-call (zero-hour) contracts
– Salary: Starting from €13/hour, based on experience
– Accommodation: Typically private rooms; rent ranges from €250500/month depending on the arrangement
– Work Environment: Fast-paced during peak season, with quieter periods in between. Outdoor work in cold temperatures (5°C to 30°C) is the norm.
