Overview
We are looking for a Specialist (Control Centres and HFE), to join our client´s project in Finland. In this role, the main responsibilities include initial data gathering and analysis, control room and HMI design, testing, and verification and validation activities in projects. The responsibilities may also include supporting in I&C engineering tasks. Purpose of the job is to perform control room engineering and human-machine interface (HMI) design assignments in I&C modernization projects and other projects of our customers. The hybrid work is possible (at least two days a week at the office). Estimated duration until end of July 2026.
Key responsibilities:
– Performs control room engineering and human-machine interface (HMI) design assignments including gathering of initial data and requirements, analysis of the data, conceptual and detailed control room layout and human-machine interface design, testing, evaluation, and documentation.
– Works mostly independently but is supervised and supported by experienced control room engineering, HMI design and human factors engineering specialists in the team.
– Interprets concepts and methods of control room engineering, human-machine interface design, human factors engineering and I&C engineering.
– Works according to company-specific procedures and international standards and guidelines in the field.
– Works in cooperation with other engineers and specialists.
– Contacts stakeholders, e.g. control room operators, to collect data and evaluate design.
Role Requirements:
– Lower or upper university degree in I&C engineering or other relevant technical field.
– Studies in development of HMIs of I&C systems, human-machine interface design, usability engineering, engineering psychology, human factors, or other similar subjects are a benefit.
– Preferably some work experience related to I&C engineering, human-machine interface design, or other relevant engineering. Also work experience in industrial operations is a benefit.
– IT skills, e.g. Excel, Word, Visio, preferably CAD. Programming skills are beneficial.
– Writing skills – a lot of writing and reporting is needed.
– Good Finnish and English skills.
– Interest to work with end-users, and teamwork skills are required.
– Occasionally travelling is needed to customer sites.
