We are now looking for a Senior Legal Counsel to join Lassila & Tikanoja Plc’s Facility Services business.

Lassila & Tikanoja’s Facility Services business is one of Lassila & Tikanoja’s two main business divisions, operating in two main market areas: Finland and Sweden. Facility Services business seeks to improve the value of properties, extend their life cycle and create the best possible conditions for the users of facilities. Lassila & Tikanoja operates in all phases of the property’s life cycle and reduces the repair debt of the built environment through continuous maintenance by offering various facility services, including cleaning and support services, property maintenance and technical and advisory services. The aim is for the properties to remain in usable condition for as long as possible. Lassila & Tikanoja is listed on Nasdaq Helsinki.

As a Senior Legal Counsel, you will join Lassila & Tikanoja’s agile and compact legal team. Your two focus areas will be to support Lassila & Tikanoja’s Facility Services business and ramping up and developing legal processes particularly in the Swedish market. In this role, you can expect to work in a wide array of commercial legal topics both in Sweden and Finland, excluding HR legal matters, which are handled by a separate team of HR and legal specialists.

In your day-to-day, you will support the business in negotiating various types of commercial agreements, advice in public tendering processes and support the business in compliance topics, including privacy, by developing instructions, trainings and monitoring. You will also support and advice in questions related to claims, disputes and M&A. Your primary focus will be on the Swedish side of the business in developing legal processes and acting as an active legal business partner to your Swedish colleagues, but you also get to support the Finnish business operations together with the Legal Director responsible for Facility Services division.

The position is based at Helsinki, Finland or Solna, Sweden, whichever is most suitable for the selected candidate, and requires travelling between Finland and Sweden. In this position you will report to the Legal Director (Facility Services).

We are looking for a lawyer with:

– A Finnish or Swedish masters degree in law and at least five years of relevant post-graduate experience (however this is just a minimum standard and this role has a lot to offer also for a more senior lawyer) preferably from an in-house legal department of a multinational company or a publicly listed company, or from a law firm or legal consultancy setting. It is an advantage if you have completed training on the bench, but this is not an absolute requirement.

– A solid background and a proven track record in drafting and negotiating various types of commercial contracts. Prior experience giving business support in public tendering processes is not an absolute must but a big plus. If you have also been exposed to M&A projects, disputes, compliance, governance, privacy, real estate and/or environmental legal topics, we are even more excited to discuss this opportunity with you!

– A proactive, meticulous, and can-do attitude – you are not afraid to roll up your sleeves and get things going.

– A solution-oriented mindset and competence to prioritize conflicting demands – you can give concrete, clear and actionable advice and are able to adapt to pressure and short deadlines. As a member of a compact legal team, you are expected to work proactively and independently when supporting your key business stakeholders.

– Strong communication skills – fluency in Swedish, Finnish and English (both written and spoken) is required.
