Northern Lights Village is an experiential hotel concept that offers unforgettable Northern Lights experiences and high-quality travel services in Lapland. We employ over 300 seasonal workers across our three stunning locations: Levi, Saariselkä, and Pyhä. We are now looking for a restaurant supervisor to join our fully experienced and dynamic team!

Job Description

As a restaurant supervisor, you will be responsible for our restaurant’s customer service, food and beverage service, and overall ambiance. You will work closely with the kitchen and the rest of the team to ensure smooth service experience. We primarily serve buffet breakfast, lunch, and dinner, but occasionally also à la carte dinners. The restaurant supervisor works in all shifts, which can be morning, evening, or split shifts. You will supervise 8-9 restaurant professionals.

Key Responsibilities of the Restaurant Supervisor:

– Staff management: You will create work schedules and ensure the well-being of the staff. Most importantly, you will lead the daily operations and staff of the restaurant by setting an example.

– Customer service: You will ensure that our customers receive at least the level of service they expect, with cheerful and prompt service in the restaurant. You will also care for your customers regardless of the area. You will develop efficiency and create a relaxed, professional atmosphere for winter travelers to enjoy.

– Sales, orders, and monitoring: You will ensure the profitability of the business through active beverage sales and sensible ordering. You will be responsible for sales and work hours tracking reports.

– Daily operations planning and organization: You will be responsible for the daily operations of the restaurant. You will ensure that the operations of the dining area and bar comply with licensing, health, and safety regulations.

In a seasonal restaurant, these tasks are particularly emphasized during busy times, where effective leadership and organizational skills are crucial. During low season, strong cost control is key to achieving results.

We expect from you:

– Previous experience in a supervisory role in a restaurant.

– A positive Can Do -attitude and skills for new operations. Solution-focused and creative expertise is needed for the role.

– Ability to guide and motivate both seasoned professionals and those starting their careers. We also appreciate your willingness to share your expertise and learn new things from all staff members

– Hygiene and alcohol serving certificates.

– Excellent English language skills and advanced IT skills, for example MaraPlan.

– To do your job well, it’s important that you have hands-on experience with collective agreement (MARA)

The employment is part time (90h/3 weeks) August-September to around March-April. In a seasonal restaurant, work is done at a fast pace during peak times, but it evens out, especially at the beginning and end of the season.
