Purchasing and Accounting Officer

International School of Helsinki (ISH) is seeking a highly organized and proactive Accounting and Purchasing Officer to join our Business Office team for a half-year study leave replacement, preferably starting July 22, 2025.
This is an exciting opportunity for a professional who is not only adept at financial/procurement administration but also passionate about process development. The ideal candidate will play a pivotal role in refining our purchasing processes and documenting them clearly for future continuity.
Key Responsibilities Include
– Develop and refine purchasing processes and create clear, concise process descriptions.
– Manage the full purchasing cycle from supplier sourcing and negotiation to order execution and delivery follow-up.
– Process accounts payable, ensuring accurate booking in Netvisor and timely vendor payments.
– Generate and manage customer invoices, track receivables, and resolve billing inquiries.
– Support other staff in their purchasing activities, ensuring adherence to established procedures.
– Provide general support to the Business Office and staff.
– Actively contribute to the continuous improvement of business office procedures and practices.

Qualifications
– Experience in purchasing, including supplier management and negotiation.
– Strong experience in process development and documentation, particularly in drafting procedural guidelines.
– Solid understanding of accounts payable and invoicing.
– Familiarity with financial software (experience with Netvisor is a strong advantage).
– Excellent organizational skills, attention to detail, systematic and a proactive approach to problem-solving.
– Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to support and guide colleagues, and provide customer service to external and internal customers.
– Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced international environment.
– Finnish and English language skills
