We are now looking for a

Principal Platform Architect

Are you passionate about building future-ready platforms, enabling self-service innovation, and driving architectural excellence? We’re looking for an experienced and forward-thinking Principal Platform Architect to join our Digital Enabling Platforms team and lead the design of our next-generation Internal Integrations Platform on AWS.

In this strategic and hands-on role, you will architect a secure, scalable, and developer-friendly platform that empowers our teams across KONE to build robust integrations. Your platform will become a foundation for agility, automation, and innovation—accelerating our journey toward a modern, digital enterprise.

You’ll work at the intersection of architecture, engineering, and business—bringing your platform engineering mindset to life while engaging with stakeholders to ensure alignment with KONE’s broader goals.

What You’ll Do

  • Lead the design and development of KONE’s internal Integration Platform on AWS

  • Provide reusable templates, automation, and governance models to enable citizen development and robust self-service integration capabilities

  • Drive DevSecOps and platform engineering best practices across CI/CD, IaC, observability, and security

  • Define the platform’s long-term technical roadmap and ensure alignment with enterprise architecture strategy

  • Collaborate with security, compliance, engineering, and product teams to ensure seamless platform adoption and scalability

  • Stay ahead of emerging technologies, AWS services, and integration patterns to continuously evolve platform capabilities

  • Create architectural artifacts such as reference architectures, governance models, and design patterns

  • Mentor engineers and champion engineering excellence and architectural consistency

What You Bring

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field

  • 10+ years of experience in software or platform architecture, with a strong focus on AWS

  • Proven expertise in designing cloud-native platforms with self-service, automation, and governance at the core

  • Deep knowledge of AWS services (Lambda, ECS, API Gateway, EventBridge, Step Functions, S3, IAM, CloudWatch, and more)

  • Hands-on experience with DevSecOps, including CI/CD, IaC, security automation, and monitoring

  • Strong understanding of integration patterns (event-driven, REST, pub/sub, batch) and API lifecycle management

  • Experience with platform security, multi-tenancy, and compliance

  • Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills across business and technical teams

Bonus If You Have

  • AWS Certified Solutions Architect – Professional or equivalent

  • Certifications such as TOGAF, SAFe Architect, or similar

  • Experience building Internal Developer Platforms or enablement tools

  • Familiarity with Platform-as-a-Product mindset and InnerSource practices

  • Exposure to data integration, API management, or middleware modernization
