The International School of Helsinki (ISH) is a vibrant, inclusive, and non-profit learning

Are you a dedicated and experienced Teacher in Early Years through Grade 5. We are seeking an energetic and passionate Primary Years (PYP) Library Teacher. This is a part-time, temporary position within our IB World School, ideal for an educator who is enthusiastic about fostering student engagement, curiosity, and a love for learning in an inquiry-based environment.
Key Responsibilities Include:
Plan and deliver engaging, student-centered lessons that promote critical thinking and inquiry.
Report mid term and end of year student progress on skills and the learner profile
Foster a positive, inclusive, and collaborative classroom culture.
Differentiate instruction to support diverse learning styles and needs.
Work closely with parents, colleagues, and administrators to support student development.
Integrate technology, creativity, and hands-on learning into daily instruction.
Participate in professional development, curriculum planning, and school-wide initiatives.
Maintain a strong commitment to student well-being, social-emotional learning, and holistic education.
Candidates who demonstrate a strong affinity for teaching this age range and for co-teaching are strongly preferred.

Qualifications & Experience
Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Education or a related field.
Teaching certification and significant experience teaching at the elementary level.
Experience in an IB PYP (Primary Years Programme) or inquiry-based curriculum preferred.
Significant experience teaching literacy and/or supporting subject areas in Early Years through Grade 5, and a background in and/or understanding of library sciences.
Strong understanding of child development, differentiated instruction, and classroom management.
Ability to create a nurturing, student-centered learning environment.
Excellent communication, collaboration, and organizational skills.
High levels of proficiency in speaking, reading and writing in English
