Job description
Elomatic operates internationally in the Marine, Industry and Pharma industries. We are now looking for a Data Scientist to join our Product Development team inside the Digital Transformation department. In particular, the team develops modern SaaS solutions and aims to solve industrial challenges with data insights. In addition, we support our customers in projects that focuses on, for example, predictive maintenance, quality control and production optimization.
As a Data Scientist, youll get a chance to analyze industrial data and turn it into valuable insights to support decision making. This versatile role enables you to work on all parts of the typical data analytics project. The focus can be either in a data science or data engineering, depending on personal skills and interests. Additionally, youll participate in solution architecture design and technology selection. Time series data is a typical focal point in industrial optimization cases, so understanding the requirements of working with time series data is seen as positive. A suitable candidate can be an experienced professional with many years of experience in machine learning and time series data. Or, a recent graduate who excels in analytical thinking and is willing to learn.

What we expect from you
– Masters or Bachelors degree in relevant field, for example, computer science or other engineering field with emphasis on data utilization.
– Interest and/or experience in machine learning and handing of time series data.
– Good programming skills (Python, pandas, scikit-learn).
– Understanding of data modelling and databases.
– Expertise and/or interest in cloud technologies (especially AWS).
– Enthusiasm for productization of machine learning solutions (MLOps).
– Vision to turn data into business opportunities.
– Ability to understand of industrial processes.
– Curious and solution-oriented approach.
– Fluency in Finnish and English.
Work will be take place at one of Elomatics offices in Finland, located in Espoo, Jyväskylä, Oulu, Tampere and Turku. Part of the work can be done remotely.
