As a Development Project Specialist you will get to join Wärtsilä Energys Logistics team and play a key role in driving diverse development projects that will enhance Wärtsiläs competitiveness, sustainable development and risk management capabilities when it comes to supply chain management and daily processes on an operational level.
The logistics team consists of 14 logistics professionals who report to General Manager Logistics but you will also have the opportunity to collaborate with Wärtsilians from other departments and business divisions.
Key responsibilities
In this position, your focus will be on actively managing and executing various development projects in areas such as pricing, project contracting, and emissions reporting. Youll take charge of each project from start to finish, identifying areas for improvement, collecting and analyzing data, creating materials, and collaborating with subject-matter experts to implement practical solutions.
Your work will follow a development roadmap established at the start of the role, detailing the key projects and goals to accomplish over the 12-month fixed-term contract. This roadmap will be reviewed by you and your supervisor regularly to ensure progress and impact. Toward the end of the contract, there will also be an opportunity to discuss potential continuation based on business needs.
Who and what we are looking for:
Were looking for a proactive project management specialist who is ready to take ownership to bring each project to successful completion. We dont expect you to know everything but we hope that you are a natural in keeping all elements under control and having the readiness to actively produce, analyze, and implement the necessary data to move projects forward. You are also talented in communications – implementing the best practices into action and creating easily approachable guidelines.
What we expect from you:
– At least a few years of similar experience in versatile project coordination or management tasks, preferably in international environments and with larger organizations
– Relevant educational background from university or university of applied sciences with a solid understanding of supply chain management
– Good analytical skills with a solution oriented and hands-on approach
– Solid skills in the Office 365 -environment, especially with Excel, PPT and Power BI
– Great social skills and at least good skills in English: you feel at ease in an international environment, you are a good organizer and can keep several tasks under control simultaneously and still carry a positive attitude
We consider as an asset:
– Previous experience with e.g. logistics and project pricing models or project contracting
– Experience with SAP or other ERP-tools
– A full working proficiency in Finnish

Job practicalities:
This is a full-time, fixed-term position for 12 months, where you will join Wärtsilä Energy as aTalents employee. We hope you are available to start as soon as possible.
The preferred location for this role is Vaasa, Finland, where the logistics team is primarily based. However, you may also work primarily from our Turku or Helsinki offices in a hybrid model. With the latter option, we value flexibility and would appreciate your willingness to travel to Vaasa approximately once a month.
The monthly salary for this position will be negotiated individually, based on your experience and background.
