Welcome to the UPM R&D Chemicals Team! We are looking for an open-minded and active chemistry or chemical engineering student to work with us. By joining our team, you will get a great chance to work with the latest innovations and development of new bio-based products and processes for our businesses. What you will do
-Work with and get to know more about product and process development related to lignin and other bio-based solutions
-Plan and execute laboratory studies and testing
-Collect information and prepare literature reviews on specific topics
-Collaborate with laboratories to complete the development projects
-Report and present the results to internal customers and stakeholders
-Work in large research center with seven different laboratories and almost 100 researchers
-Be part of the agile development culture of UPM R&D
Who you are
We are looking for chemistry or chemical engineering students who have already advanced in their studies. In this role, you will need good self-leadership and communication skills. A positive attitude towards learning and developing in the job is desired quality. You should have a good knowledge of chemical phenomena, an understanding of safe laboratory work, and an eagerness to take initiative and responsibility. Know-how of wood and lignin chemistry and bio-based materials is an asset. In our workplace you will need excellent English skills, both written and spoken.
