Overview
We are strengthening our Engineered Solutions Business Units Application Engineering team and looking for Application Development Engineer, Conductor Cores to join our team!
The objective of this position is to take responsibility and ownership of Exel´s conductor core products. You will be supported by the conductor core Product Manager and Application Development Engineer to ensure transition to this role and the products. As part of the Engineered Solutions Business Unit Application Engineering team, you are offered an exciting engineering role where your contributions will directly impact the business. You will have the unique opportunity to see firsthand how your efforts impact on the company´s trajectory and the strategic directions we choose. The ideal candidate should possess significant engineering experience within the electrical transmission market. The required locations for this position are business units in Finland, preferrable our factory in Mäntyharju. You will report to the Director, Application Engineering, BU Engineered solutions.
Your main responsibilities and tasks include:
Technical support to conductor core sales organization and customer interface
Perform feasibility studies and technology fit analysis
New products development, optimization, and design
Perform profile cost and technical calculations and troubleshooting in customer interface
Take overall responsibility and leadership (project management) of the given projects
Manage technical and product documentation
Executing the ramp-up process for new products
Handling product-related change management and quality planning
Support production in their daily activities and problem-solving
Desired skills and competencies:
B.Sc. or M.Sc. in engineering, technical degrees are a plus
Strong global sales experience and good technical understanding (e.g. mechanical engineering, structural analysis, strength calculations)
Minimum 5 years of transmission engineer experience, preferably in overhead lines
Project management skills in product development and customer projects
Ability to create and perform project and development plans, schedules and budgets
Self-motivation and initiative for continuous learning in composite materials and applications
Good verbal communication skills and capability to effective writing, fluent spoken and written in English
Cross cultural understanding and teamwork capability
